Curriculum

Verónica estudia inicialmente fotografía, decidiéndo luego estudiar pintura en la Escuela del Museo de Bellas Artes de Boston, dónde permaneció 4 años. A su regreso a Chile asistió a talleres de la Escuela de Arte de la U: Católica como una manera de integrarse. Su tema es recurrente, los interiores. Se pasea con su mirada fotográfica por el interior de los recintos que le son más cercanos, de su casa, de su taller, los observa, los recorre, modificando, dibujando y pintando; los representa desde distintos ángulos y con diferentes gamas de colores, son los suyos interiores luminosos; cocinas, pasillos, patios, con predominio de la sala de baño que la atrae especialmente. Se detiene en los sanitarios trabajando en la sensualidad de sus formas, el contrapunto estructural de la grifería, el brillo de la luz en la superficie blanca, en los ritmos de cóncavo y convexo. En su trabajo ella integra el tema y la técnica, en la reflexión sobre la idea de recorrido, el correr del agua, la transformación de los alimentos, el fluir de la vida. En su técnica usa mucho la aguada, veladuras de pigmento muy diluído que resbalan por la tela; en su temática se centra en el baño y sus artefactos, en que el agua es fundamental. Su actual exposición, Interiores II muestra un recorrido desde la estructura hacia la abstracción, hay predominio de diagonales, perspectivas lineales que nos sitúan fuera, y matices cálidos o fríos que nos invitan a entrar a recintos vivificados por el color. English Verónica began studying photography to continue with painting at the Fine Arts Museum School, in Boston, where she stayed four years. Coming back to Chile she attended different workshops at the Catholic University, as a way of integration.Her subject, interiors, is recurrent. She walks with her photographic sight, through places she feels near, her home, her workshop, and over those images she works;observing, modifying, drawing and painting. Her interiors are luminous, we find kitchens, entrance halls, backyards, with predominance of the bath room. She halts in the sanitary, working with the sensuality of their forms, the structural counterpoint of the faucets, the refulgent light of their white surface, in the convex and the hollow rythms. She integrates in her work theme and tecnique, with the idea of run; the transformation of food, the running water, the flow of life. She uses very diluted pigments that slide down the canvas and mainly works with the bath room and its sanitaries, where the presence of water is fundamental.In her actual exhibit "Interipor II" her subjects are coming near abstraction, we find plenty of diagonals that situates us outside, and warm or cold combination of colours that invites us to go inside. Her spaces are luminous, colour enlivens them.
