Curriculum

Con estudios de arte en Francia y posteriormente en la Universidad de Chile, Odette presenta esculturas en gres cerámico. El gres es un tipo de arcilla que resiste altas temperaturas y que al ser horneado adquiere la dureza y la calidad de la piedra. Su obra se construye en láminas, no es un bloque que se desbasta, sino un espacio que se contiene; obedece a pulsaciones internas,algunas de sus obras tienen reminiscencias del mundo vegetal, a Odette le interesa expresar los ritmos de contracción y expansión de la vida vegetal, y la forma redonda y llena de vida de la semilla. En pequeñas zonas de sus gresculturas agrega pigmentos o elementos minerales de coloración intensa.La experimentación de la forma acoge elementos de metal pulido y duras varillas de madera. English With art studies in France, and later at the University of Chile, Odette presents her sculptures in stone ware, which is a type of clay that resists high temperatures, and after baked turns as hard as stone, looking similar to volcanic rock. Her sculpture is build up in kind of sheets: it is not a block to be devastated. Her artwork obeys to internal vibrations, some of it has reminiscences of the vegetal world, Odette is interested in expressing the rythms of contraction and expantion of vegetal life, and the kind of round and full of life shape of the seeds. In small zones of her pieces she adds pigments or mineral powders of bright colour. Her experimental search on shape makes her add elements of polished metal and hard thin wood sticks, to give the linear sense.
