Sorprendentemente Mireya no se apoya en fotografías ya que tiene de tal manera interiorizada la imagen del cuerpo humano que no necesita mirarlo para la creación de sus obras. Son muchos años los que ha ejercido la docencia en el taller de pintura donde se trabaja con modelo vivo. Trabaja en varias obras simultáneamente a las que aplica un color de fondo diferente, el que le dará unidad a la obra y se vislumbrará misteriosamente al rededor de las figuras representadas. No le tiene miedo al color intenso y la vibración de la luz juega un rol fundamental en su pintura. Sus escenas dan cuenta de un gozo de la vida y de romanticismo, dentro de un marco de quietud y serenidad en la posición de los personajes, salvo algunas excepciones como los Miserere. Emociona la ternura con que son pintados sus perritos compañeros, dando cuenta como los animales domésticos son parte importante de su entorno. Without the help of a camera, Mireya creates her work, many years teaching painting with a model allows her to visualize by memory the shape and positions of the human body.
